How To Get Started With Affiliate SEO

You can stop asking me about it now.

I’ve finally got round to creating some content on affiliate marketing.

For anyone that doesn’t know, I got my start in this whole “online marketing world” when I was 15 years old, as an affiliate marketer.

In fact, when I was 15 years old I ended up interning at an affiliate network for a couple weeks. Only to get invited out to their Australia office, fully complimentary, for an additional 2 weeks.

Not that I knew anything about affiliate marketing then, but I was interested in business and willing to work hard.

Anyway, that’s a story for another time.

In this episode, you’re going to learn the basics of affiliate marketing and how to get started with it. Then we’ll get onto the more advanced parts later.

Right now I am not using Affiliate Networks a lot, I’m mostly affiliated directly with partner shops. But one thing I am going to do is to get into a good relation with an affiliate manager, as soon as I am start to use one. So obvious, but didn’t really thought about that. 😉 Thanks man, that can make a huge difference!

One thing I am doing right for one website, where I am working with 7 different affiliate partners, is keeping a good relation with them and even do a Newsletter for them to keep them up to date what’s happening on my site. New products added, new features, selling banners, …

Additionally I think it’s quite smart to ask for coupon codes for your users. If possible the coupon code should have your websites brand inside. I guess this helps with branding in general a little as well.

It really can make a big difference, I’ve had payout increases just by becoming friendly with them.

The coupon idea is great if you’re selling physical products and they offer discounts.

    Hey, Daryl!

Great video. I’ll be looking forward to the follow-up videos.

    Thanks!

    Daryl,

Do you have a preferred affiliate website creation service? Looking to invest in a site or two. I’ve mastered the link building off page work but I need a good service to create the site.

    Thanks!

I build them all inhouse. Not going to trust someone else at picking the best niche, keywords and offer for me. Aside from ranking for the terms, that’s the most important part of it.

I’m already part of quite a few networks … luckily. Joining is easy … to actually make money is a bit harder.

I experimented quite a lot with paid traffic, which was good but I couldn’t make too much money (lost a bit in a matter of fact).

On SEO part I’m just concerned it will take ages to rank and make some money (starting from scratch). Looking forward for next part than …

I wouldn’t say it’s fast or easy, but if you know how to rank and what keywords to rank for, you’ll obviously make money. We’ll talk more on that stuff later 🙂

Hey daryl, why is it good to be in many different affiliate networks, instead of focusing on three or less?

    • Daryl Rosser  June 24, 2016 at 2:41 am

It’s all about finding the best offers.

Good video Daryl, thanks. Not looked at affiliate SEO at all before but I’m definitely considering it for the future.

Thanks man. I usually recommend people get some cashflow coming in first before they get into it, since it’s slower to see results from. But it’s a solid model.

    Hey Daryl,
How do you approach the affiliate in general, do you use reviews type websites to make people buy ?

    • Daryl Rosser  January 5, 2017 at 8:19 pm

      Yeah, I’ll do reviews usually.
